Bella - Adopted!
The story just doesn’t get any sadder than this. Bella lost her home thru no fault of her own. The family that owned her lost their home in a fire. They lost absolutely everything they owned. The family did try to keep Bella and the other dogs they had, but could not find housing for them all. They signed Bella over to the Delta shelter. Bella had gone thru so many changes that she just couldn’t cope with. First being caught in a house fire, being dragged out by strangers, being put in a strange kennel with people walking by all the time looking at her. She reacted much the way one would expect. She was afraid and she expressed this by growling. The shelter staff just wasn’t sure how to help her and asked that we take her on. WCRR didn’t have a foster home and Bella had to wait awhile but finally someone stepped forward for this girl. We were told that Bella had some issues with strange men, and that she was very particular about other dogs in her space. And while this might have been true while in the shelter, she has proven herself to her new family. She lives happily with other dogs of all sizes, loves the attention she receives from children and has learned to trust humans again.
