Rhonda - Adopted!

What a wonderful old girl she is.  Like so many animals, Rhonda spent her life not being valued for the wonderful companion she is. She was raised on a farm and when the farm changed hands, Rhonda kept getting left behind. Sometimes people were kind to her, fed her, gave her shelter, but often she was left to fend for herself as if she had no more value than a piece of equipment. When the last owner died, some kind folks that were feeding her took her to the local shelter, and that’s when we were called.

WCRR got the call about an old girl that was incontinent and wasn’t doing well in the shelter. So we said, just send her down and we will care for her.  I didn’t really think that we would be able to find a home for her. Its not like people are lining up to adopt 11 yr old leaky Rottweilers. But miracles do happen and thru the help of angels, the perfect home stepped forward. Rhonda made herself at home right away. She met all the resident dogs and let them know that she would put up with no nonsense, got to meet the horses and clearly had met horses before. And the cats, who would have known that this old girl loved cats.

Rhonda is no longer incontinent, she only needs bathroom breaks more often than younger dogs, she sleeps wherever she wants in the house, is fed only the best food available, has all the health care she needs, and most important, loves and is loved by her humans.
