Clyde @ Surrey

Age: 9        Breed: Shepherd Rottie

UPDATES:    December 15/11
Clyde is still hanging in there. We seem to have found the perfect combination of medications to keep him going. Slower but still going.
Almost every week now I find another lump of some sort on Clyde. But nnone of them seem painful at all.
His joints are a different issue. He gets up slower and goes down slower and now he has taken to licking his knees. Many would say we are not doing him any favours but they don't see him rushing to the door to greet us or the little dance he does at meal time. Nor do they see him roll on his back for a belly rub anytime he thinks he can con you into it. Clyde is not above headbutting anyone on the couch for more belly rubs. So well he isn't going to win any beauty contest with his dull patchy coat or his smelly farts, he continues to show us that he is not ready to leave yet.
If you want to contribute to Clydes care, you can do so via the CanadaHelps button on the main page.

May 4/11

Clyde continues to make us laugh with the antics. He is on as much medication as we can safely give him and is clearly feeling no pain. He still loves his food, is still pushing poor Sashka out of his way to get to the people first or get her off the couch so he can have it all to himself. Clydes medication cost us about $100.00 per month. Not a huge amount but enough to put a dent in the bank account. But we will not give up on him. As long as they work, he can have all he wants

March 29/11

Clyde is an amazing dog. He is like a yoyo... up, down, up, down. Well he has been up for several weeks now. And we are thrilled! He is so sweet with our little Sashka. And he is great with people. Wish I could say the same about other animals. He cannot be trusted at all.

Clyde is quite funny. His back legs are pretty weak and he cannot jump up because of that. But, when this boy wants something he goes after it and nothing stops him. An example is food. A couple of weeks ago Jim left a package of sausages on the back of the counter. Clyde is strong enough to give a little hop and get his front paws on the counter. Once that happens he is good to go. LOL Clyde managed to eat those sausages by simply holding himself up with his front legs. Jim and I had to go out for dinner that night. Thanks Clyde!

Clyde 's Story:
I realized that I had not put Clyde on the website. Maybe its because he isn't adoptable. But he is in our care and that care is expensive. Clyde has cancer. We are not doing anything evasive for him. We will control his pain. He is a lovely boy. He still enjoys his food, toys and walks. That is all any of us could wish for.

Ice.JPGIce2.jpg
Ice @ surrey

Age: 9 yrs old        Breed: Rottweiler Cross

Ice 's Story:
Ice is a 9 yr old male. He is most likely crossed with something but we have no idea. Ice appears to be clean in the house, has lived with another dog before and should do well with a large mellow female.
Ice does need some work with boundaries. He can be guardy around his food bowl and would benefit from some ongoing training. He is good on leash, knows basic command and is quite affectionate. But he does give clear warning growls if you are doing something he does not like.
Ice needs an experienced owner. He will not be adopted out to a family with children. He loves the attention of men and would do well as an only dog.

Jasmine and lucky.jpgJasmine4.jpg
Jasmine @ Port Moody

Age: 1 - 2 yrs old        Breed: Rottie Mix

UPDATES:    Jasmine has arrived and you could not ask for a nicer dog. She is eager to please, plays very well with other dogs, but should not be around cats unsupervised. And Jasmine loves people. Children, older folks, just about everyone.
The ideal home for Jasmine would be one with children to play with as well as another dog to keep her company. She is now being fostered in Port Moody and will be ready for her new home very very soon.

Jasmine 's Story:
Jasmine is awaiting a foster home. Can you help her. We will supply everything that you need.
She is currently living up in Terrace with other dogs. she seems to enjoy the company of older children and would do well in an active home. Jasmine may need a little help with housebreaking only because she is used to a doggie door. She will need some help with obedience training but is a smart young lady. She is just a small girl weighing in at around 55 lbs. If you would like to foster or adopt jasmine please just send us an email.

Taz.jpg
Taz @ Surrey

Age: Baby        Breed: lab ?? cross

Taz 's Story:
Taz was sent down to us when it was thought that he needed more medical care then he was able to get in his first rescue. It is believed Taz was bitten in the face by another dog. We have had everything x-rayed and his cheek bone is broken but there do not seem to be any loose peices of bones to worry about. Everything is lined up properly and we will just let nature take its course and heal. He may always have that lump under his eye but we thing it just give him more character. He is being fostered in Surrey and will be available for adoption soon.
