Otis @ Courtsey Listing

We are looking for that one special person to complete Otis, and give him that “forever” home this dog so deserves.
Otis is a hound mix, and seems to have a lot going against him.
He’s 7 years old, he’s big, he acts more like a hound then the other breed mixed in there, which we feel is probably Rottweiler.
His bellow is loud, so if you’re not ready for it, look out.
He doesn’t like cats AT ALL, not keen on the little dogs, and he’s very particular about bigger dogs.
He can’t play at a dog park, because you just never know. He’s walked on leash because you just never know.
He loves kids, but he’s so big and clumsy, he runs over them, so of course, he isn’t welcome around them. However, older kids can probably handle the 90 lbs of clumsiness
What he does have going for him is he is an extremely lovable dog. Loves to be with his human. Loves to play with toys, and play any game his human can think up.
He’s got a great nose on him and he LOVES to find things.
He’s easy to love because he’s so funny, and keeps people entertained.
He loves car rides where he can hang his head out the window, letting the wind flap through his ears.
After a couple of good walks and plays in a day, Otis is ready to call it a night, and he’s very content to just hang out with his human companion.
Otis must have a fenced yard, and the fence needs to be at least 6 feet high, so he can’t jump over, because sometimes Otis thinks he’s agile.
Otis also is very respectful of invisible fencing, and any deterrent put in front of him.
He’s not much of a tester, and learns after the first encounter.
Otis would make an excellent search and rescue, contraband, or scent dog, BUT Otis is a family dog first and foremost.
Otis will not be adopted to anyone who’s interest is hunting.
